Enrique Rosario

Performer
Enrique Rosario is an international professional tap dancer born and raised in Wake Forest, North Carolina. He started dancing at 6 years old at CC & Company Dance Complex. Growing up, his main mentor and teacher was Emily Shoemaker.

At the age of 15, Enrique was accepted in the Tap Kids Apprentice Program and in the same year he was invited to perform in the Tap Kids show, in McLean, VA, directed by Lisa Hopkins. At the same age, he was a featured tap artist in the TAPN2TAP Concert, in Dallas, TX, directed by Malana Murphy. ​

In 2018, Enrique was invited to perform as a feature dancer at the 70th Annual Emmy's Governors Balls and at the McCoy Rigby Arts Gala, honoring Kenny Ortega, with Reverb Tap Company under the direction of Leah Silva.
In 2019, Enrique was accepted into the Tap Program at Jacob's Pillow; there he was able to to train with world renowned tap professionals. Also, he was able to perform on the Inside/Out stage and was also in the show "Gotta Dance" which was the School of Jacob's Pillow fundraiser. Both shows were directed by Michelle Dorrance and Dormeshia. In addition, Enrique was invited to perform with Dorrance Dance in the three-week long run of the The Nutcracker, directed by Michelle Dorrance, Josette Wiggan-Freund, and Hannah Heller, at the Joyce Theater. He has also performed with Sarah Reich in January of 2020 and October of 2022 in her show, Sarah Reich Live. In 2024, he was apart of Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox US Summer tour as the featured tap dancer.

Enrique Rosario started setting choreography on himself when he was 15 years old. His self choreographed solo, that he created in 2016, was chosen to perform in the 2017 TAPN2TAP Concert in Dallas, TX. Around the same age, he was an assistant choreographer to Emily Shoemaker with her collaborations with Nick Dinicolangelo which were"Sights and Sounds" in 2016, and "To Be Determined" in 2017.

In 2017, he was chosen to be the first ever Emerging Choreographer at the Tap Kids summer intensive and had the opportunity to present his piece, "Rise". And in the following year, he was a YoungArts Winner in Dance: Choreography with his 2 pieces, "Rise" and "To This Day".
In 2020, he presented a new piece at the Woodshed Experience, "Escape From Reality". This piece was chosen to perform at the 2021 TAPN2TAP Concert by Malana Murphy.
He also produced, directed, choreographed, and starred in his live ZOOM show called "A Night with Ella" which premiered in 2021.

In 2023, he started a new dance short film series called "A Love Story" and came out with the first two installments of the series; "The Dream" which was also was co-choreographed by Jack Beaule, and "Time Traveling".

He has choreographed for studios all over the USA and has won multiple choreography awards for his pieces.

Enrique Rosario started assisting his teacher, Emily Shoemaker, when he was 12 years old. And he has been teaching since he was 16 years old. He has taught at multiple intensives and has given master classes in studios all around his home state and around the country. He also has been able to assist Sarah Reich around the world when she is teaching at multiple tap festivals, her intensive Tap Music Project, and the dance conventions she teaches for, NUVO and The Dance Awards.
He has been given the opportunity to teach at world renowned tap dance festivals such as RIFF Dallas, Orange County Tap festival, and has been a special guest teacher for Sarah Reich's Tap Music Project.

Currently he is the head of the tap department at InMotion Dance Center in Winston-Salem, NC and apart of the faculty as an adjunct professor at UNC Greensboro.
